Turns out the original role-playing game is a lot more flexible than I thought, with plenty of tropes and traditions that can be turned in to fun new Magic mechanics
But you can also give them indestructible for the same cost by gifting someone a card too

#17 I think what threw everyone for a loop here were the Hybrid cards mechanics of evolving from Tamers, which would imply the presence of the Frontier kids
Yugi is able to block this attack too, banishing "Clear Kuriboh" to draw a card, which he can Special Summon if it is a monster and redirect the attack to, but Yugi's body reaches its limits and he finds himself incapable of drawing his next card
